FBST
2007-2009 Meet Schedule and Entry Form
*Denotes meets that have required qualifying times!
Meet Procedures for Swimmers
- Know what events you are swimming prior to arrival. Younger swimmers
should have their events written on their hand by a parent, coach or
older team member.
- Set goals for each event.
- Wear FBST team outfits for uniformity and team spirit.
- Be at least 15 minutes early for warm-up. A proper warm-up is essential
for optimal performance.
- Upon arrival, check meet sheets to see if you are in the correct
events. If positive check in is required, do so immediately. If you have
questions, ask your coach.
- Stay in team area and rest between events. Shoes should be worn
whenever standing and walking.
- Check in with the coaching staff prior to each event.
- After a race, get your time from the timer and then go directly
to the coaching staff to give your time and talk about your swim. If
they are speaking to another swimmer or watching a race, wait patiently
and let them know you are there waiting.
- Record your official time if you are keeping a logbook.
- Eat properly and keep hydrated during the meet. Refer to USA
Swimming website for more information.
- Check with coaches prior to leaving meet.

family and FBST. Conduct yourself responsibly and show good sportsmanship
at all times.
- Encourage and support your teammates.
- Do not scratch an event without the coach's permission.
- Before departing the meet, make sure the team area is clean. Parents
should stay in the stands and off the deck unless they are working
(officiating, timing, etc.).

Communication with Coach
We encourage parents to communicate with their swimmer’s coach often
and openly, but not while practice is in session. Generally, immediately
after practice is a good time for a short chat with the coaches. When parents
have a concern that is not resolved by a conversation with the coach, or
wish to discuss an issue with the head coach, Mark
Murray can be reached
at (703) 627-4796. Mr. Murray and the rest of the coaching
staff may be
reached by email as well.
